I used to buy pot and hash. I knew personally both Aries Rons, had a great time at D's birthday party when Oceloa played, really liked the older dude that specialized in hash. A 'higher power' must of been looking over me, because the day the commune got busted, I had bought a kilo hours earlier. Mostly good people and good vibes, though too many underage runaways, spelled doom for Good Earth. Nicol

This is Leatherman Steve, had a little leather shop in the back corner of the Everlovin' Trading Post in 1969 for 6 months. Now I'm 70, have been tripping back down memory lane to the good times. After 6 months on Haight, staying high and learning my craft, I moved out to the garage/ candle factory out in the avenues, where i worked in a shed in the back yard, while candles were made inside, and Jim repaired the family's cars.
Remembering Steve and Cyril, Dana and Nancy, Gypsy, Kitten, Aquarius Steve, Fast Freddy, Tony the scavenger with the woody wagon. Parties at the main house (Oak St?) with conga drums and acid. Family Dog and Fillmore West. Getting dosed at a Dead concert at Longeshoremens Hall.
Back at the Trading Post, I was making sandals, stash pouches, fringed leather shirts, and, most fun, crotchless suede panties !
Chaotic times, I was there from 69-71, and we saw the scene go from peace and love to armed resistance and Black Panthers. I remember Gypsy running defense drills at Oak St. We left the city to find our own path, so I was a hippie leather craftsman for a while, then a designer, and ended up traveling the world designing bags and getting them made.
Thank you psychedelics for opening those doors for me.......

i used to hitch between la and san francisco during the late 60s-early 70s...
I was a political activist who was involved with Green Power...We used to focalize the
Griffith Park love-ins
Anyway one of my hitching trips landed me in the Haight...A sister named Eva took me to the house on Oak and Cole...This resulted in a trip to a Tuesday Night Jam at the Fillmore West and I crashed on a couch at the Commune...
I would run into members now abd then during my hitching trips to sf.....
Later I moved to NYC and became the mad yippie thrower (www.pieman.biz)

Oh, this is amazing! I came to the Good Earth with Ranger from Big Sur. I was hitch-hiking, I think back to SF. I was still a kid. I was in SF in 1967, left, and I think it was 1969 that I returned. Rubaiyat, I sure do remember the folks you mention. I was the second Capricorn Linda. I left when guns were brought in for the "revolution," some Black Panthers came one day, stayed behind locked doors. You might recall the little shoot out from the Page Street house--some calling themselves White Panthers, which kinda ended all the peace, love, and good vibes. I don't even know if Oak Street or Cole Street were functioning as the Good Earth annymore. But in the beginning it was a great social experiment, drugs and all. So many tales...

Hi
I recently found out that Cyril Isaacs was my biological father. Is there anyone out there who can tellme a little about him? I think he was one of the founding members of the Good Earth.
